Gophers Football Has Taken Max Brosmer And His Parents For A Wild Ride
The Gophers football team has been a rollercoaster ride for Max Brosmer and his parents this season. The team started the season 1-3, including a heartbreaking loss to FCS South Dakota State. But since then, the Gophers have won four straight games and are now 5-3 overall and 3-2 in the Big Ten.
Brosmer’s journey
Brosmer is a redshirt freshman defensive end from Wausau, Wisconsin. He has played in all eight games this season and has recorded 14 tackles, two tackles for loss, and one sack.
“It’s been a lot of fun,” Brosmer said. “I’ve learned a lot this season. The coaches have been great, and my teammates have been really supportive.”
The Gophers’ season
The Gophers started the season with a 31-26 loss to South Dakota State. The Jacks, who are ranked No. 1 in the FCS, scored a touchdown with just over a minute remaining to pull out the victory.
The Gophers then lost their next two games, to Michigan and Purdue. But they have since rebounded to win four straight games, including a 31-26 victory over No. 25 Indiana last Saturday.
“We’re just taking it one game at a time,” Brosmer said. “We’re not looking ahead to anything. We’re just trying to win each game we play.”
The future
The Gophers have four games remaining on their schedule, including a game against No. 3 Ohio State on Nov. 12. Brosmer said the team is excited for the challenge.
“We’re confident in ourselves,” Brosmer said. “We know we can compete with anybody. We’re just going to go out there and play our game.”
