
Jayden Reed Goes Back For Seconds For Another Thanksgiving TD
East Lansing, MI – In a Thanksgiving day tradition that is quickly becoming legendary, Jayden Reed returned a kickoff 93 yards for a touchdown, his second career Thanksgiving day return score.
A History of Success
Reed is now the only player in NCAA history to have two kickoff return touchdowns on Thanksgiving Day. His first came in 2021 as a member of the Western Michigan.
Reed said after the game, “It’s a blessing to be able to make history on a day like Thanksgiving. I’m grateful for the opportunity and I’m glad I could help my team win.”
A Big Play in a Big Game
Reed’s touchdown came at a critical moment in the game. Michigan State was trailing Ohio State 26-20 and needed a big play to get back in the game. Reed provided that play with his electrifying return.
Michigan State head coach Mel Tucker said, “Jayden is a special player. He’s a game-changer and he made a huge play for us today. We’re lucky to have him on our team.”

Reed is a redshirt sophomore and has two years of eligibility remaining at Michigan State. He is expected to be a key player for the Spartans in the years to come.
