Trump Begins Second Term with “Victory Rally” and Festivities

In a historic return to the White House, President-elect Donald Trump marked his second inauguration with a grand “Make America Great Again Victory Rally” in Washington, D.C., on Sunday. The event drew over 20,000 supporters, echoing his Madison Square Garden rally in New York City before the November Election in 2024.

“We won, we won!” Trump declared, addressing the enthusiastic crowd at the Capital One Arena.

The rally was part of a series of celebratory events planned for Trump’s second inauguration, including Saturday night fireworks at his Virginia golf club and exclusive parties and dinners.

Beyond the festivities, the rally also highlighted the significance of large-scale rallies throughout Trump’s presidential campaigns, galvanizing his supporters and carrying the momentum into his second term.

The rally featured performances by celebrities who supported Trump’s 2024 presidential campaign, such as the disco band Village People, whose hit “Y.M.C.A.” became a popular rally anthem, and country music legend Lee Greenwood, whose “God Bless the U.S.A.” has been Trump’s signature campaign exit song.

Other performers included longtime Trump supporter and rock musician Kid Rock, country star Billy Ray Cyrus, and Liberty University’s Praise Choir.

During the event, Trump invited billionaire Elon Musk to the stage.

On Monday, Trump and his supporters gathered again at Capital One Arena, which served as an overflow venue for the inauguration festivities due to cold weather, with the official ceremony taking place in the smaller U.S. Capitol Rotunda.

Trump promoted a “live viewing” of his inauguration at the arena on Monday and promised to join the crowd after his swearing-in.

“Everyone will be safe, everyone will be happy, and we will, together, MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!” Trump wrote.

Following the swearing-in ceremony and parade, three inauguration balls the Commander in Chief Ball, the Liberty Inaugural Ball, and the Starlight Ball, all attended by Trump concluded the inaugural festivities.
